Thread Inspector Position

Job Purpose


* The inspector shall ensure all in process and final material meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Duties and responsibilities

* Must prepare inspection area for shift start
1. Perform 1st Article inspection to start production run
2. Check area to ensure all necessary gauges and tools are available
3. Performs in-process inspections of Premium/API threads in accordance to print tolerances/specifications- documents results on inspection report
4. Creates molds of threads and verifies compliance to specifications using a comparator- documents results on inspection report
5. Liaison to CNC Thread Operators for information for out of tolerance pipe dimensions and recommends offsets to correct condition
6. Documents inspection reports in accordance with quality plan/premium thread license requirements
7. Responsible to record non-conformances for rejected threads and paint material for identification purposes
8. Reports any non-conforming or potential problems to Quality Auditor for mediation
* Responsible for completing production/non-conformance documents at the end of each shift daily and submitting for reporting
* Responsible for cleaning area after each shift
* Responsible for proper care and storage of all MT&E
* Adhere to company policies, department to SOPs and company QMS
* Other duties as assigned Qualifications & Required Skills
* Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed
* Knowledge of general manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery
* Must be able to lift 30 pounds
* Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices
* Must demonstrate Safe Working Habits
* Some related experience in the pipe or oil and gas industry preferred

Education
* A High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
