We’re hiring a Purchasing Assistant for our Southeast Houston area client!

DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:

  • Job Title:  Purchasing Assistant
  • Location:  Southeast Houston area
  • Pay: $40-50K annually, incentive bonus program, comprehensive health plans, 401k with employer match, life and disability insurance.
  • Hours:  8am to 5pm
  • Duration:  Direct Hire
  • Description of Duties:   Busy Southeast Houston area company seeks a Purchasing Assistant to begin work immediately.  Job duties include:  Assisting Purchasing team with execution of purchase orders, maintaining communication with vendors and managing organization of purchase documentation. Responsible for processing shipping/material documentation for incoming material and managing the electronic filing. Coordinating directly with ports and freight partners to execute shipment deliveries to stocking facilities. Collaborating with Operations and Receiving teams to ensure incoming material is properly received. Expediting orders and tracking deliveries to ensure company satisfaction. Coordinating with staff and vendors to ensure timely and accurate arrival of products and services. Assisting Sales teams by providing estimated arrivals for incoming stock material. Helping Sales teams with preparing export documentation, and additional paperwork, as required. Managing customer requests that relate to manufacturer certificate amendments. Requirements:  Experience with port logistics is a plus. 3 or more years related work experience preferred. Experience with industrial goods inventory preferred. Extremely organized and able to prioritize. Advanced analytic and technical skills to include tools such as Microsoft Excel (formulas & pivot tables). Experience in databases and related software is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders. Superior attention to detail and excellent organization skills. A positive attitude with the ability to cultivate and develop working relationships as a strong team player.
