Accounting Manager and HR Representative

Position Overview:
As our Accounting Manager & HR Representative, you’ll manage full-cycle accounting, month-end reporting, cash flow, and payroll while also supporting HR functions like benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle management. This role is key to ensuring both financial accuracy and a strong, compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting / Finance (≈60%)
- Manage full-cycle accounting: A/R, A/P, GL, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Execute month-end close, journal entries, and accruals
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Maintain chart of accounts and accounting controls
- Prepare supporting schedules for CPA and year-end tax filings
- Handle customer invoicing, collections, vendor bills, credit cards, and expense reports
- Support budgeting and variance analysis
Human Resources (≈40%, training provided)
- Run payroll and manage timekeeping administration
- Maintain HRIS and employee records
- Administer benefits (health, dental, PTO, 401k)
- Update HR policies, handbook, and SOPs
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws (EEO, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.)
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and safety reporting
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years accounting experience (A/P, A/R, GL, financial statements)
- Advanced QuickBooks proficiency
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and HR compliance fundamentals
- Highly organized, process-driven, with excellent follow-through
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2+ years HR experience (payroll, benefits, compliance)
- Experience in staffing, professional services, construction, or trades
